For the ancient Greeks the word ‘schedía’ meant the raft, the space of safety in the sea of uncertainty; but it was also the bridge of boats, a step in communicating with each other.
The theatre builds bridges made of gestures, words, non-verbal language; it exists only as dialogue and a common search for meaning. The theatre is the place of sharing – and perhaps of salvation.
Schedía Teatro was founded in 2007 from the meeting and initiative of Sara Cicenia and Riccardo Colombini, who, after various collaborations, wanted to start a professional project for the promotion of theatrical and cultural events.
Professionally active since 2009, it operates on the local, national and international territory with performances, theater workshops and training projects with particular interest for the audience of the younger generations.
At the refoundation in 2017, the two founding members were joined by Irina Lorandi, with whom they share training courses between the Scuola del Teatro Libero and the Scuola d’Arte Drammatica Paolo Grassi in Milan. The company is constantly updated in the artistic and educational field, and has opened over time to different experiences and collaborations.
Since 2009, Schedía Teatro’s performances have been represented, in addition to Lombardy, in the following regions: Basilicata, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Marche, Piedmont, Sardinia, Tuscany, Trentino Alto-Adige, Veneto.
SInce 2014, the company has opened its horizon to the international front, gradually shaping its production activity in a perspective of circuiting abroad; the company has so far traveled in: France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Macedonia, Tunisia, Morocco, Russia and China.
The company is among the founding members of Assitej Italy, National Association of Theatre for Children and Young People.
