About us

For the ancient Greeks the word ‘schedía’ meant the raft, the space of safety in the sea of uncertainty; but it was also the bridge of boats, a step in communicating with each other.
The theatre builds bridges made of gestures, words, non-verbal language; it exists only as dialogue and a common search for meaning. The theatre is the place of sharing – and perhaps of salvation.

Schedía Teatro was founded in 2007 from the meeting and initiative of Sara Cicenia and Riccardo Colombini, who, after various collaborations, wanted to start a professional project for the promotion of theatrical and cultural events.
Since 2009 it operates in the Lombardy Region and nationally with theatrical shows and training projects, with particular regard to the younger audience. The company is among the founding members of Assitej Italy, National Association of Theatre for Children and Young People.

The company has conducted graduate and postgraduate studies in the classics, arts and entertainment at the University of Milan and has studied different techniques and scenic languages in depth with numerous actors, directors and educators; among them: Eugenio Barba and the actors of the Odin Theatre, Potlach Theatre, Kuniaki Ida, Tatiana Olear, Cesare Lievi, Laura Curino, Roberto Anglisani, Ferruccio Soleri, Michele
Monetta, Emanuele De Checchi, Roberta Mangiacavalli, Giorgio Putzolu, Maria Pia Pagliarecci, Elena Bucci, Fabio Mangolini.

Schedía Teatro also conducts drama workshops and projects to promote reading in libraries and schools in the Lombardy Region.
